About David R. Almo
Passionate About Inspiring Others
David R. Almo, MA, CMT, ESMT
While David R Almo was in elementary school he developed a curiosity in the study of the human body. In Junior High he was introduced to weight training and fitness from a simple PE class, and these two early interests lead him to getting a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from California State University, Chico.
He stayed at Chico State to pursue a Master of Arts degree during which time he taught Exercise Physiology Labs, was involved in numerous research studies and projects and was a peer advisor. The ever growing understanding of the human body, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, that was what interested him the most. Once he earned his M.A. David then started studying massage therapy, something that had a longtime pull for him.
With the indirect encouragement from a friend and “the planets being aligning just right” he took his first massage class and began his journey into the world of the Healing Arts. With his previous education David brought an understanding of anatomy and physiology to massage sessions and classes.
During his initial Level 1 training, David was able to see a demonstration of equine massage, (the horse’s name was Wynn Sara and she was due the following month), He was really intrigued, however wasn’t able to take the equine class, several years later he did become certified as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist. It can be quite an experience when he works with the amazing animals.
And somewhere in there, he also started learning about and using energy medicine/work. This is something he had a lifelong connection to, though he really wasn’t aware of it until his adult years. And that’s the main path he follows today.
David taught Health & Wellness for Butte Community College for several years furthering his understanding of the human body.
Today he uses his unique blend of education, coaching, energy medicine/work, and when in person, massage techniques, and stretching in his sessions to provide the most he can for his clients. David does some traveling to horse shows offering his skills for Horse & Rider as well as sessions via phone or video calls.
“All that is impossible remains to be accomplished.”
